He was the brother to Jennifer, Leslie, Jean, and Daniel, and uncle to many nieces, and nephews. He also leaves behind countless cherished friends, team, and crewmates. Ed was born and raised in Norwood, MA and graduated from Norwood High School in 1979. He was a member of the Varsity Soccer team and captain of the 1979 varsity ice hockey team that went on to the state quarter finals in the Boston Garden. Ed continued his hockey career at Williams College playing varsity all four years and being named MVP his senior year. Shortly after graduating from college, he relocated to the mid-Atlantic to start his career in software technology sales in Northern Virginia. At the same time, he began racing sailboats in Annapolis, MD participating in numerous inshore and offshore regattas including the Governor's Cup, Annapolis to Bermuda race competing on a J-30, as well as the Edgartown Regatta, New York Yacht Club cruise series, the Heineken Regatta in St. Maarten, and Figawi (Hyannis to Nantucket). He and Courtney loved taking their family to New Hampshire to ski at Waterville Valley, Loon Mountain, and trips out west. He also enjoyed going to the cape and islands in the summer with friends and family. He was always a welcome sight running and walking his loop around Little Harbor and isle five of his local Stop & Shop. It would be remiss without mentioning his beloved golden retriever companion Grady. Till we meet again!!
