Eileen M. (Sorterup) Howorth, age 90, of Cohasset, formerly of So. Weymouth, passed away peacefully on September 15, 2013 surrounded by her loving family. Beloved wife of the late Carlton "Bud" Howorth Jr. Devoted mother of Susan Howorth Pritchard, Diane Dooley and husband, Dennis of Cohasset, and the late Carlton "Buddy" Howorth, III. Nana of Lauren Dooley Nappi and husband Michael; Michael Dooley Jr.; and Elizabeth Howorth. Great-grandmother of Sofia Nappi. Sister of the late June Buddenhagen, Carole Cochran and Doris Sorterup. Special aunt to Linda Smith and Chickie Tolman.

Eileen was born in Malden and raised in Montclair and North Quincy. She graduated from North Quincy High School. Eileen worked at the Quincy Shipyard as a welder and a sheet metal worker. She was a USO Hostess during WWII. Eileen was proud of her Swedish heritage and she enjoyed ballroom dancing and jitterbugging. She and Bud relaxed at Sandy Beach, vacationed on the Cape, and treasured their family time.

A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, Sept. 19, 2013 at 7 pm in the Second Congregational Church, 43 Highland Ave., Cohasset Commons. A  graveside service will be held in Woodside Cemetery, Cohasset. In lieu of flowers, donations to honor Eileen may be made to the Second Congregational Church, 43 Highland Ave., Cohasset, MA. 02025.
