Obituary

Elaine E. (King) Greenleaf, 74, a long-time resident of Gunrock in Hull, MA, died peacefully at home November 21, 2017, surrounded by her devoted family and friends. Loving mother of Jill Greenleaf and John Thomas Greenleaf (and their spouses, Bill Mecklenburg and Jacqulyn Greenleaf).  She is survived by her sisters Eleanore Baker and Roberta Donohue and by Ronnie Greenleaf, father of Jill and John Thomas. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frances and Thomas King, her brother Thomas King, and her sister Myrtle Dowling.

Born and raised in South Boston, she and her family moved to Hull in the mid 70's.  Between the "Southie Girls" (her life-long friends Frances Uftring, Sheila Mulkern and Dianne Anastasio) and her extended family in Hull (especially Judy Barry, Betty Kelly and Maryellen Londergan), she is thought of fondly and frequently.

Lainzo never stopped working.  From her friends at Schooner's, where she was a hostess for over 20 years, to the people who knew her from the floral department at Stop & Shop, she was a no-nonsense Irish "broad" – she worked hard and lived well. She will be missed by all who knew her. Say goodnight to Lainzo, kids.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, June 30th, 2018 at 10 am in St. Ann/St Mary, Samoset Ave, Hull.  Donations in her memory may be made to the Danielle E. Struzziery Scholarship Fund, c/o Hingham Institution for Savings in Hull, Massachusetts.
