Eleanore Gately Farrell of Hingham, formerly of Cohasset and Jamaica Plain on Wednesday, September 8, 2010. Beloved wife of the late John P. Gately and the late Francis F. Farrell. Beloved sister of the late Joan D. and John H. O'Neill Jr. Beloved mother of John Peter Gately Jr. and his wife Carol of Scituate, MA., Kathryn Gately Poole and her husband Richard of DeKalb, IL., Eleanore O'Neill Gately of Hingham, MA. and David Francis Gately and his wife Margaret of Westfield, NJ. Beloved grandmother to Tara Gately and John Hayes, Kristan Gately and Joseph Luke Day, Erin Gately and Matthew Gifford, all of Boston,Ma., Michaela and Michael Garnet of DeKalb, IL., Kaitlin and Maura Gately of Hingham,MA., and John Peter, Mark, Andrew, and Elizabeth Gately of Westfield,NJ. Also survived by nine great grandchildren, four godchildren and many neices and nephews. Eleanore was a proud graduate of Notre Dame Academy Class of '37 and of Emmanuel College Class of '41. She was an honorary member of the Scituate Harbor Yacht Club, the pianist of many years for the West Roxbury Parkway Concert Orchestra, a member of the Cohasset Garden Club and a director of Liberty Bank and Trust Co. in Boston. She was most happy with her family and many friends.

Visiting hours

Visiting hours will be held on Friday from 4 to 8 pm at McNamara-Sparrell Funeral Home, 1 Summer St. (across from St. Anthony's Church), Cohasset.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Eleanore's memory to Notre Dame Academy, Hingham, MA. or Emmanuel College, Boston, MA.

Service Information

Funeral from the McNamara-Sparrell Funeral Home ,Cohasset, MA. on Saturday, September 11, 2010 at 9:30 o'clock. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Anthony's Church, Cohasset, Ma. at 10:30 am.

Burial will be private.
