Elinor L. (Gorman) Mackin, of Norwell, age 86, passed away on February 28, 2016. Wife of the late Paul G. Mackin. Devoted mother of Ann M. Curtin and husband John of Wrentham, Joan M. Preble and husband George of Norwell, Jane M. Ferrini and husband Thomas of Portsmouth, NH. Grandmother of  Matthew Preble, Daniel  Curtin, Steven Curtin, Michael Preble, James Curtin, Claire Preble, Edward Ferrini and Lucy Ferrini. Sister of William L. Gorman of West Hartford, CT. and John Gorman of Vero Beach, FL.

Mrs. Mackin was a retired teacher for the Town of Norwell, teaching for many years at the Vinal School.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at 9 am in St, Helen Church, 383 Washington St. (Rt. 53) Norwell, MA. 02061. Visiting hours Tuesday, March 1, 2016 from 3-7 pm in McNamara-Sparrell Funeral Home, 30 Central St. (off Rt. 123,), near the State Police Barracks, Norwell Center. Interment Washington Street Cemetery, Norwell. In lieu of flowers, donations to honor Mrs. Mackin may be made to the James Library, 24 West St. Norwell, MA. 02061.
