Elisabeth "Betty" (Casserly) Hickey passed away at her home in Hingham, Massachusetts on May 23, 2024 at the age of 94 years.  She is survived by her four children, William E Hickey Jr., Gerald P. Hickey(Mamiko), Janice M.Darlington(Mark), and Alice M. Franco(Steve), five grandchildren, Amanda, William, Sean, Bryan and Jake, and four great-grandchildren.  Betty was predeceased by her husband of 61 Years, William E. Hickey, her daughter, Karen M.Hickey and many feline companions, including her dear Mollyanna.  Betty grew up in Boston and graduated from Simmons College School of Nursing in 1952.  She received a Master's degree from Boston University in 1976.  She had a diverse career in Nursing for over four decades.  Along with Bill, Betty resided in West Roxbury, Scituate, Quincy, Falmouth and for the past 14 years, at Linden Ponds in Hingham.  Betty was always active and adventurous.  She traveled extensively, both domestically and internationally throughout her life. Betty was a lifelong learner and an avid reader.  She volunteered throughout her life beginning as a girl scout troop leader, to the Falmouth Hospital gift shop and most recently as an usher at Linden Ponds.  Betty will be missed by many including her family, friends, especially her Linden Ponds dinner companions and her weekly Hand and Foot and Rummikub groups.

Betty will be remembered at a Mass of Christian Burial at Resurrection Church in Hingham on September 30, 2024 at 10:00 am followed by a reception at Linden Ponds.  A private burial will take place at the National Cemetery in Bourne, MA where Betty will join her beloved late husband Bill.
