Elizabeth Anne (McPherson) Ahern, age 66, of Norwell, died peacefully surrounded by her loving family at home on January 21, 2012. Betty was the beloved wife of J. Oliver Ahern, and the devoted mother of Oliver J. Ahern of Colorado, Anthony M. Carmillo and his wife Michelle of North Carolina, Paul J. Carmillo and his wife, Amie of Chelmsford, and the late Robert B. Ahern. She was the adored grandmother of Matthew, Dominic and Samuel of North Carolina, and Nicholas, Charles and Olivia of Chelmsford. Betty was the sister of Mary Walsh of Weymouth, Terry King of Ohio, Linda Brand and Eileen Gonsalves both of Carver, Joseph McPherson of Hanover and the late Patricia Collins. She was the daughter of the late Mary (O'Brien) and Joseph McPherson. Betty is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, January 25, 2012 at 9 am in St. Helen Church, 383 Washington Street (Rt. 53), Norwell. Visiting hours Tuesday, January 24 from 4-8 pm in McNamara-Sparrell Funeral Home, 30 Central St. (off Rt. 123, near State Police barracks), Norwell Center. Interment Washington Street Cemetery, Norwell.
