Ernest Fichtner, 81, of Scituate, passed away peacefully August 4, 2017.

Ernie was a loving husband to Sue, devoted father to Michele (Michael)

Campbell and Kevin (Sally) Fichtner, and adoring grandfather to Madylin,

Carson, Olivia and Katherine. He's also survived by his sisters, Lee

Parker, Rhoda Bernstein and Brenda Dresslar, a brother, Jay Fichtner,

and step children, Karen Ulanowski and Jim Ulanowski.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Blume and Max Fichtner of New

York, and a brother, Herman Fichtner. Ernie earned a BS in Business

Management from the University of Scranton. He proudly served his

country in the Air Force and Navy. He was a Vietnam Veteran serving 2

tours as a combat pilot. After 20 years of service, Ernie retired as a

Commander of the US Navy. During that time, he was a corporate pilot

with Teledyne for 23 years. God is now his co-pilot. Funeral services will

be held at Cohasset Central Cemetery September 3 at 11am.
