Evelyn Louise Schwelm Farrell Rohnstock, on February 28, 2012, at age 97.  Wife of the late Henry D. "Bud" Rohnstock, Evelyn passed away peacefully at home, in the company of her devoted grandson Michael and his wife Jennifer.

Born on October 14, 1914, Evelyn graduated from Dedham High School, Class of 1933.  She was voted "Best Dressed Girl" of her class, an honor she was deeply proud of since she was an excellent seamstress and made many of her own clothes. Due to her high marks, she was granted special consideration and allowed to leave high school early, taking a bookkeeping job in Boston.  Evelyn met her beloved husband Bud at a beach party on White Horse Beach in Plymouth MA.  They married in December 1941, before Bud shipped out to serve in World War II.  As a war bride, Evelyn made their home at Ft. Benning Georgia.  They eventually settled in Scituate where they lived for over 60 years, raised a family, and enjoyed an active social life.  For the last few years, Evelyn lived with and was cared for by Michael and Jennifer, and their children.

Throughout her life, Evelyn enjoyed golf, skiing, swimming and vacationing.  She was also an avid crafter creating many memorable counted cross stitch pieces, quilts, and clothing. She was a wonderful cook & hostess, and leaves her family and friends with memories of wonderful meals, recipes and parties.  Evelyn used her bookkeeping talents throughout her life working for Hatherly Country Club and the Scituate Harbor Yacht Club.  As an only child, Evelyn depended on her wonderful group of dear friends she referred to as "The Girls".  Starting as young married women, this remarkable group met every Wednesday for lunch and a visit, rotating each other's houses.  They saw each other through marriages, births, child rearing, grandchildren, and deaths, with undying friendship and genuine affection for each other. Evelyn's passing marks the end of this tremendous legacy.

In addition to her eldest grandson Michael B. (Fiori) Rohnstock, and his wife Jennifer of Scituate MA, Evelyn leaves her son Bruce F. Rohnstock and his wife Kristy of Corpus Christi, TX and her daughter Cheryl Rohnstock, of Weymouth, MA.  Evelyn also leaves grandchildren Paula Fiori Parillo of Foxborough; Leanne Smith, and Daniel Wager, both of PA.  She is also survived by her great-grandchildren, Julie, Caroline & Michael Rohnstock of Scituate; Alex and Elise Parillo of  Foxborough; Morgan, Emily, Callie & Ziles Smith of PA, and Autumn Wager of PA.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, March 2, 2012 at 11 am in St. Mary of the Nativity Church, 1 Kent St., Scituate Harbor, MA. 02066. At Evelyn's request, there will be no visting hours. Interment private. If desired, donations in Evelyn's memory may be made to the Beacon Hospice, 32 Resnik Rd., Plymouth, MA. 02360
