Francis G. Chase III, 66, of Orleans, MA, formerly of Hingham, MA, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on September 27, 2025 after a hard fought and courageous battle with cancer.

Born in Boston, MA in 1959 and raised in Cohasset, MA as the middle child of Fran and Barbara Chase, Frank graduated from Thayer Academy and went on to play lacrosse at Merrimack College. Upon graduation from Merrimack, Frank continued his lacrosse career semi-professionally as a crease defenseman for Coors Light. He later lead a diverse career path, working for his family's business, Chase Corporation, starting his own residential and commercial painting company, and pursuing various positions in sales. His favorite job of all, though, was his post-retirement part-time gig working as a "cart boy" and eventual starter at Dennis Pines Golf Course on Cape Cod.

Frank loved living on the Cape and was thrilled to be able to retire and live full-time in his family's summer home in Orleans, sharing the stunning views and access to Nauset Beach with friends and acquaintances alike. He had the gift of gab and unique ability to connect with strangers, striking up a conversation with anyone and everyone he came in contact with, either telling you about his children, sharing an embellished story or two, or simply making you laugh. He was generous, thoughtful, and cared deeply about his family, friends, and neighbors, going out of his way to provide a helping hand, make sure you were cared for, and probably offering you a beer in the process.

Frank is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Barbara (McIntyre) Chase, his children, Courtney (Chase) O'Connell and husband Patrick of Quincy, MA and Conor Chase of Fort Lauderdale, FL, his brother Michael Chase and wife Carolyn (Buonanno) of Providence, RI, his brother-in-law Thomas McIntyre of Guilford, CT, as well as his six nieces and nephews Thomas, Margaret, Phoebe, and Christian Chase, and Lily and Charles McIntyre. He was preceded in death by his parents, Francis Chase and Barbara (Sullivan) Chase of Cohasset, MA and his sister, Anne Chase, of Hull, MA.

Family and friends are invited to attend Funeral Services on Thursday, October 9th at 10 am at St. Anthony's Church, 10 Summer Street, Cohasset, MA. Calling hours will be held from 4-7 pm on Wednesday, October 8th at McNamara-Sparrell Funeral Home, 1 Summer Street, Cohasset, MA.
