Francis (Frank) Ciolkosz passed away June 22, 2026 after a lengthy illness which he battled with determination and always a smile on his face. He grew up in Hingham and graduated from Archbishop Williams High School and Wentworth Institute of Technology. He met the love of his life, Marie, while working at the First National Grocery Store. They lived in Cohasset before moving to Scituate where they raised their family. Frank proudly served in the United States Army and worked for AT&T for 39 years. Upon retirement he worked for Watson Family Hardware where he met many people, shared stories and told people how to fix things. It earned him the nickname ELF (everybody loves Frank). He always enjoyed a good story but was happiest on his boat (the Jupiter Lady) with his family. Family and faith were always first. Frank was a Lector and Eucharistic Minister at St. Frances Xavier Cabrini Church and attended St. Anthony’s when St. Frances closed. An avid boater, he took and taught classes in the Bare Cove Power Squadron. Frank was preceded in death by his parents Dr. Dennis and Mary Ciolkosz, his wife Marie and sister Denise. He is survived by his children Terry and Kristen (Richard) Kropp, his dog Hunter and grand dog Parker. He also leaves behind his brother Ted (Betty) and his brother-in-law Jack (Elinor) Kelley as well as his nephews and their families. The family would like to thank Dr. Steven Golden and Frank’s caregivers at South Shore Hospital, South Shore VNA and Fresenius (Weymouth) for the excellent care and compassion they gave to our dad and family. A special thank you to Deacon Mattie Henry whose visits always made our dad’s day. We will be forever grateful. To honor our dad, tell a good story, say a kind word, do a good deed, smile or make one of his famous 3 recipes – if you know you know. We will miss you forever!
