Francis H. Shaughnessy, age 94, of Brighton, passed away on December 3, 2016 after a brief illness at the V.A. Medical Centery, West Roxbury. Mr. Shaughnessy was the loving son of the late Matthew and Helen (Doyle) Shaughnessy. He was the beloved brother of the late Richard A. and his late wife Marie Shaughnessy and the late Ann Shaughnessy. He was beloved uncle of Richard A. Shaughnessy and his wife Linda of Millbury, MA., Maryellen Londergan and her husband and Frank's best friend, Edward "Happy" of Hull, Annmarie Curran and her husband Steve of Hull. Also survived by 12 grand nieces and nephews and 8 great grandnieces and nephews.
Mr. Shaughnessy served bravely and proudly in World War II as a member of the US Navy. He received the distinguished Navy Cross for his valiant actions as a pilot in the the Pacific Theater. Upon returning home, he returned to Harvard University and graduated with a Bachelor's Degree. Frank went on to have a successful career as a stock broker and investment broker owning his own company, FHS Investments.
Frank was an avid and adventurous skier, who loved to travel both internationally and across the US. He spent many wonderful vacations with his sister, Ann.
A Graveside Service will be held at the V.A. Massachusetts National Cemetery, Connery Ave., Bourne, MA. at 10:45 am on Friday, Dec. 9, 2016.
