George Patrick Rice, age 90, formerly of Norwell, Westwood, and Naples FL passed away on June 11, 2023 after an extended illness. George was the son of the late Patrick and Helen (Meagher) Rice. He will be sadly missed by his daughters Maureen duCrest, Kathleen Rice-McDonald (husband Brian), Annie McKnight, (husband Marty) and was predeceased by his son Brendan Rice. George leaves behind his sister Dr. Mary Rice, and his brother and sister-in-law Billy and Maureen Welch. George is also survived by his seven grandchildren Morgan, Danny, Julia, and Aidan McDonald, Patrick Noel and Cailei duCrest, and Glen McKnight; and his nieces Missy and Kristin, and nephew Dennis.

George was raised in Milton and was a Boston College Triple Eagle having attended BC High, and both BC Undergraduate and Graduate Schools. He worked his entire professional career for Raytheon primarily in Quincy. George loved watching BC football, all the Boston sports teams, traveling the world, and spending time at his home in Naples FL.

Friends and Family are invited to celebrate George's life on Tuesday, June 20, 2023 at MacNamara-Sparrell Funeral Home-1 Summer St, Cohasset, MA at 9 AM followed by a service at 11 at the funeral home. George will be interred beside his son Brendan at the Washington St. Cemetery in Norwell. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Jimmy Fund in the name of Brendan Rice.
