Obituary

Gerard J. Belliveau- Age 63, of Scituate on March 15, 2011. Beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. Husband of Arlene E. (O'Donoghue). Father of Gerard J. Belliveau, Jr. and his wife Jody of CA, John O. Belliveau of North Attleboro, Andrew D. Belliveau and his wife Laura of East Boston and Janet K. Bomar and her husband Bennett of MN. Grandfather of Zoey Ellen and Jasper Walsh Belliveau and Samuel Gerard and Anna Brown Bomar. Brother of Joanne B. Oechler and her husband Hugh of Cambridge, Mary B. Strauss of Scituate, and the late Raymond L. Belliveau, Jr. of VA.

He was the son of the late Raymond L. and Ruth V. (Bailey) Belliveau. He is also survived by his brothers-in-law John W. O'Donoghue, Jr. and his wife Bibsy of Concord, Kevin J. O'Donoghue and his wife Gerry of Scituate and Stephen C. O'Donoghue and his wife Annette of Scituate; his sisters-in-law Karen F. Bagshaw and her late husband Mark H. of Pepperell and Janet M. Varney and her husband Phillip of VT.; his cousin Leo C. Costello and his wife Mary of Scituate and parents-in-law Alice M. and the late John W. O'Donoghue. He also leaves many nieces, nephews, cousins, and legions of friends.

Mr. Belliveau graduated from Saint Sebastian's Country Day School after having studied at the Ecole de Monte Rosa in Montreaux, Switzerland. He graduated with honors from Saint Francis College (now the University of New England) in Biddeford Pool, Maine. He served in the U.S. Army and was a Vietnam veteran. He was a Special Agent of the United States Secret Service. Subsequently, he established his own investigative and security company, Security Resources, Ltd.

Visiting hours

Visiting hours Friday 4-9 pm in McNamara-Sparrell Funeral Home, 1 Summer St. (across from St. Anthony's Church), Cohasset.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jerry's memory to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in support of the oncology nursing fund. Please make checks payable to BIDMC and note Gerard J. Belliveau's name in the memo line and mailed to BIDMC, Office of Development, 330 Brookline Ave., Boston, MA 02215.

Service Information

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, March 19, 2011 at 10 am in St. Mary of the Nativity Church, 1 Kent St., Scituate Harbor, MA. 02066.

Interment with US Army Honors, St. Mary Cemetery, Scituate, MA.
