Gordon Atwood Lambert, age 85, a lifelong resident of Norwell, passed away surrounded by family on December 27, 2011 after a long illness. Beloved father of Patricia Lambert and Sheralee Lambert, both of Norwell, and Janielle Donnelly and her husband, Craig of Carver and Lynda Harring. Brother of Marilyn Fredrickson of Norwell and Lawrence Lambert and his wife Ann of Eliot, ME. He was the adored grandfather of Heather Lambert, Ian Gordon Lambert, Brianna Donnelly and David Harring and the cherished great grandfather of Steffanie, Gordon and Ramon. Predeceased by the mother of his children Mary Louise (Monroe) Lambert-Baumhoff.
Mr. Lambert was a veteran of WWII and Korea, serving in the US Army, US Army Air Corps and later the US Air Force. He was Police and Fire Dispatcher for the Town of Norwell for over 43 years and was a Sergeant on the Auxiliary Police Department. Mr. Lambert was also employed by the South Shore Regional Vocational Technical High School. He was a model railroad enthusiast. He was an avid stamp collector and enjoyed watching the Red Sox, Celtics and NASCAR. He was cared for at home in the last five years of his life by his loving daughter Sherry.
Visiting hours will be held on Monday, January 2, 2012 from 3-6 pm with a Funeral Service to be held at 6 pm in McNamara-Sparrell Funeral Home, 30 Central St. (off Rt. 123, near State Police Barracks), Norwell Center. Interment at Mass. National Cemetery, Bourne, MA. on Tuesday Jan. 3, 2012 at 2:15 pm.
