Obituary

Harold Eugene Gerbis III of Scituate MA beloved brother, son, partner, and friend passed away suddenly on Friday, April 26, 2024. Harold's lust for life and adventure was an inspiration to all he encountered whether it was a new friend he met on the ocean or a lifelong companion stretching back to Erdman preschool.

Harold is survived by his mother Jennifer Ford Gerbis, and his father Harold Eugene Gerbis Jr. his siblings William, Patricia, and Victoria, and his high school sweetheart Aubrey Webber.  As well as his Grandmother Kathryn Ford, his loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and their families.

Harold was born on September 6th, 1992. He took his first steps at 8 1/2 months old and never slowed down. Harold was incredibly creative and gifted athletically. He was passionate about surfing, snowboarding, fishing, diving, hockey, lacrosse, hunting, mountain biking, skydiving, and all things that challenged him. He loved to write, paint, do leatherwork, woodwork, and pottery. There was truly nothing he wouldn't try or do. Harold loved to cook, go on adventures, travel, and look after others, specifically his family. Memories of trips up to his family's home in Nelson NH are embedded in the hearts of his close friends and family. He was especially proud of harvesting his first deer with a bow last fall. Harold was hilarious, passionate, and caring. He loved to share his knowledge and experiences to encourage others and boost their confidence. He was known for hooking a fish but always passing the line to a friend instead to "share the stoke." He worked for several years as a plumber for his beloved uncle Todd Amelang, and recently embarked on the journey to become a journeyman plumber, dreaming up a plumbing business called Turning Tides Plumbing and Heating. He was an assistant Lacrosse coach at Scituate High School as a former four-year varsity player and enthusiast.

Harold is remembered for his passion for the ocean and his connection to nature. He leaves behind a legacy of compassion and love for life.
