Harold E. Hudson, Jr.(known as Bubba in Maine) age 72 of Weymouth passed away suddenly on October 17, 2011, at home. Harold(Hal) was the beloved husband of Christine M. (Abbadessa)and the loving brother of Maxine Baker of York, ME, Pauline Baker of Scarborough, ME, and Judith Clough and husband Harold of Scarborough, ME. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Victoria Mortland and her husband, James of Hull, brother- in-law, Richard Abbadessa and his wife, Virginia, brother-in-law, Ted Abbadessa and his wife, Donna all of Cohasset. Hal is also survived by his special nieces, nephews and special friends.
Hal graduated from Falmouth High School in Maine. He retired from Verizon Telephone Co. after 30 years. His last years there he was an instructor, teaching high speed data telecommunications. Hal learned these skills right out of high school while serving in the Air Force National Guard. After leaving the National Guard, he worked for Western Union and later for Philco-Ford corp. in the Lincoln Laboratory/MIT interactions building learning signature analysis for reentry vehicles.
When he retired he enjoyed refurbishing and building model boats. Hal learned to cook as a youngster and did all the shopping for himself and his wife of 44 years. Hal was an avid soccer player in high school and also loved playing chess. Hal was also a Mason for Nantascot Lodge in Hull.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
