Harold Stelzer, 68, of Scituate, MA passed away on December 15th, peacefully, after a brief illness with his family at his side.

Harold was born on January 19th, 1955 to Heinz and Hedwig Stelzer of Scituate, MA. Harold graduated from Scituate High School in 1974 and went on to receive a full ride to the University of Nebraska for Track and Field. He still holds records for his accomplishment in the Mile event and has a personal best time of 4:01. He was named All-American in 1976 and captain of track for the '77-'78 season. He and his team won the Big 8 championship in 1978 and received rings in honor of their accomplishment.

After graduation, Harold received his Masters Degree in Criminal Justice from Northeastern University.

Harold lives on through his surviving children, Keirsten Stelzer and Gretchen Stelzer and his siblings Herb Stelzer, wife Deb Stelzer and Heidi Keating and husband Ed Keating and their families. Services will be Wednesday 12/20 at McNamara Sparrell Funeral home in Cohasset from 5-7pm.
