Hedwig "Heddy" (Bach) Stelzer passed away peacefully Wednesday April 10th. Born November 9th, 1921 she grew up  in Becheln, Germany.  In 1952 she immigrated to Scituate where she and the late Heinz Stelzer raised a family. Heddy worked at the Charcoal Corner and Rexall Drug store before embarking on a career at the Scituate Public Schools, reluctantly retiring after 27 years. She loved the kids, sometimes serving multiple generations. Heddy was an avid gardener, cook and baker. Locally famous for her homemade soups, she loved to read, chat, and tend to her gardens and travel. Not one to sit still she enjoyed sewing and needlepoint.
