Helen V. (McCarthy) McDonnell- age 86, of Hingham, formerly of Dorchester and Weymouth, passed away peacefully with family at her side on October 22, 2014. Wife of the late John J. McDonnell. Mother of Michael J. McDonnell of Marshfield, Kathleen McDonnell Prosper of Florida, Ellen Driscoll of New York, and Kevin F. McDonnell of New Hampshire. Grandmother of six loving grandchildren and one great grandchild. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.  Sister of the late Michael J. McCarthy of Braintree.

Helen's loves were family, music and friends.


A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, Oct. 25, 2014 at 10 am in Church of the Resurrection, 1057 Main St. (Rt. 228), Hingham, MA. 02043. Visiting hours Friday, Oct. 24 from 4-8 pm in McNamara-Sparrell Funeral Home, 30 Central St. (off Rt 123, near State Police Barracks), Norwell Center. Interment Fort Hill Cemetery, Hingham. In lieu of flowers, donations to honor Helen may be made to the Fisher House of Boston, P. O. Box 230, South Walpole, MA 02071.
