Henry Francis Joseph
June 20, 1963 – February 23, 2025
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Henry Francis Joseph, 61, of Abington, Massachusetts. Henry passed away peacefully in Boston on the afternoon of Sunday, February 23rd, 2025 surrounded by his family after battling an illness.
Born in Weymouth on June 20, 1963, Henry grew up in Scituate, where he developed a love for building and fixing things. After graduating from South Shore Vo-Tech in 1981, he proudly served in the U.S. Navy as a Seabee from 1981 to 1988, following in the footsteps of his father. It was during his service in the Philippines that he met Maria Liza, the love of his life. They built a home together in Abington, where they raised their three children, Melissa, Ryan, and Thomas.
A carpenter by trade and by passion, Henry dedicated his life to his craft, always taking pride in his work. Whether building something new or fixing what was broken, he was happiest with tools in his hands. He loved time spent at the shop with his brothers, working on projects, and sharing laughs.
Beyond his work, Henry was a family man through and through. He found joy in the simple things—grilling in the backyard, watching his kids grow up, and being surrounded by the people he loved most. He was the kind of person who could fix just about anything and was always looking forward to his next project.
Henry is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Liza; his children, Melissa, Ryan, and Thomas; and his brothers, Art Jr., John, Herbie, and Eddie. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur Sr. and Virginia Joseph.
Family and friends are invited to honor Henry's life at a wake on Sunday, March 2nd, from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at McNamara-Sparrell Funeral Home, 30 Central St., Norwell, MA. A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, March 3rd at 10:00am, at St. Mary's Church, 1 Kent St., Scituate, MA 02066. Burial will be held later in the day at Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
Henry's presence, laughter, and unwavering love for his family will be dearly missed but never forgotten.
