Ira B.P. Stoughton, Jr.- age 83, of Cohasset, passed away peacefully on Nov. 21, 2011. Beloved husband of Margaret M. "Peg" (McNamara) and loving father of Susan Gentile and her husband, Dan of Franklin, Jeanne Quigley and her husband, Drew of Cape Cod. Also survived by his grandchildren, Daniel, Christina, Angela, Caitlin, and Rachel and three great-grandchildren. Brother of Beverly Barrett of Hingham and the late Anne Walker.

Ira was a member of the VFW Post 9146, George H. Mealey Post #118 and the Old Goats Club. Mr. Stoughton worked for Proctor and Gamble Co. for over 36 years. He was WWII and Korean War veteran, serving in the US Army. Ira was also a member of Board of Director of the Light Keepers Assoc.

Visiting hours will be held on Saturday,  November 26, 2011 from 10-11:30 am in McNamara-Sparrell Funeral Home, 1 Summer St. (Across from St. Anthony Church), Cohasset, immediately followed by a graveside service in Woodside Cemetery, Cohasset. In lieu of flowers, donation in Ira's memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Assoc., 311 Arsenal St., Watertown, MA. 02472 or to the Hospice of the South Shore, 100 Bay State Dr., Braintree, MA. 02184..
