J. Oliver Ahern, age 76, of Norwell, passed away peacefully on July 1, 2021 after a period of declining health. Beloved husband of the late Elizabeth A. (McPherson) Ahern.

Loving father of Anthony Carmillo and wife Michelle of Clayton, NC, Oliver J. Ahern and wife Leanna of Longmont, CO., the late Robert Ahern, and  Paul Carmillo and wife Amie of Chelmsford, MA. Beloved grandfather of Matthew, Dominic and Samuel Carmillo of NC, Nicholas, Olivia, and Vivian Carmillo and the late Charles Carmillo. Brother of the late Patrick Ahern of Ireland, Michael Ahern of Mansfield, and Edward Ahern of Braintree. Dear Friend of Margaret Davin of Brockton.

Born in Limerick, Ireland, Ollie was a member of the Sprinkler Fitters 550. He also was a self employed plumber and Vice President of several mechanical companies.

Visiting hours Tuesday,  July 6, 2021 8:30-9:30 am in McNamara Sparrell Funeral Home, 30 Central St.. (off rt 123, near State Police Barracks), Norwell Center followed a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am in St. Helen Church, 383 Washington Street, Norwell, MA. 02061, followed by interment in Washington Street Cemetery, Norwell. In lieu of flowers, donations to honor Oliver may be made to the Norwell VNA and Hospice, 120 Longwater Dr., Norwell, MA. 02061.
