James E. Curtin, Sr., age 83, of Norwell. Husband of Patricia A. (Eichel). Father of Austin M. Curtin and wife Laura of Plymouth, William L. Curtin and wife Michele of Norwell and the late James E. Curtin, Jr. Loving grandfather of Samantha, Grace, and Natalie Curtin of Plymouth, Tyler, Lexi, and Nate Curtin of Norwell. Brother of the late Lawrence, Austin "Bud" and Christine. Also survived by his sister in law, Linda Curtin, and his nieces and nephews.
Jim was born and raised in North Quincy, where he attended NQ public schools. He then began a 29 year career with the MBTA, where he started as a bus driver and retired as a Yard Motorman. In his retirement, Jim passionately followed all Boston sports teams and immersed himself in American history, specifically World War II.
Family and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2023 from 8-9 am in St. Mary of the Sacred Heart Church, 392 Hanover Street, Hanover, MA. 02339 followed immediately by a 9 am Mass of Christian Burial. Interment Washington Street Cemetery, Norwell. In lieu of flowers donations to Alzheimer's Assoc., 309 Waverly Oaks Road, Waltham, 02452.
