James A. Doyle, age 88, of Norwell, formerly of Jamaica Plain, passed away on June 5, 2015. Beloved husband of 55 years to Mary T. (Moriarty). Devoted father of Aine M. Doyle and husband John Perra of Charleston, SC. Brother of Robert Doyle of Long Island, NY, Gladys Bickford of Vermont, Gloria Thompson of Holbrook.

Mr. Doyle attended Boston College and was the Owner and Chef of Swenbecks Restaurant in Salem, MA. At the age of 18, Mr. Doyle joined the United States Marine Corps, serving in World War II. He was wounded in Okinawa and received a Purple Heart.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, June 11, 2015 at 10 am in St. Helen Church, Washington Street, Norwell. Interment V.A. Mass. National Cemetery, Connery Ave., Bourne, MA. on Thursday, June 11 at 1:15 pm. Visiting hours Omitted. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Scituate Animal Shelter, 781 C.J.C.
