Jaime passed away unexpectedly at the age of 59. He lived his life to the fullest. He believed “when you’ve tried your hardest, you’ve done your best.” He was a “jack of all trades.” He excelled in everything that he put his mind to. He wore his heart on his sleeve, was compassionate, caring, thoughtful, loving and empathetic to family, friends and strangers. He didn’t beat around the bush, he would tell it like he saw it. He was one in a million. He didn’t even realize that, which was a wonderful quality to have had. He lived with the mentality “that hard work and putting your best foot forward triumphs over everything.”Jaime was born in Weymouth, MA. He spent the entirety of his life in Scituate, graduating from Scituate High School. From a very early age he had the love of ice hockey. He was a natural. He spent every waking moment skating at the Boys Pond; shooting pucks, stick handling, rollerblading all over town while juggling the puck on the blade of his stick. Hockey ran through his veins. He was passionate about hockey. He made every team he tried out for. He played on the Scituate High School Varsity Hockey Team as a Freshman. The 1985 SHS team played at the Boston Garden and won the State Championship. Jaime was awarded the MVP. He was drafted by the Boston Bruins. This was an honor and a dream come true.
He later became the coach of the 2007 Scituate Sailors Hockey Team who went on to win the championship. He was nothing short of a legend.Jaime cherished spending every chance he had with his sons. He loved the outdoors and exposed them to every activity possible. Some of his cherished memories were taking walks on Nantasket Beach collecting sea glass with them, playing catch at Castle Island in Boston, sharing conversations and advice and extending himself as the best role model as possible.
