James F. Lydon Jr., 47, of Cohasset, passed away unexpectedly but peacefully on January 9, 2014. Jimmy will be forever loved by his wife and soul mate of 21 years, Kathryn C. (Lowell), his son, James III and daughter Elizabeth, his sister, Jacqueline Stephens of Cohasset,  his brother Jeffrey Lydon of Scituate, his parents, James and Joanne Lydon of Twin Mt, New Hampshire (formerly of Cohasset), and his mother-in-law Sally Lowell of Brockton.  His sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, many nieces and nephews, and his many supportive aunts and uncles will all miss Jimmy dearly. He will be fondly remembered by his many friends, and co-workers (past and present) and his  "BAND OF BROTHERS", whom all loved his quick wit and his big heart and smile.

Jimmy was a proud citizen of Cohasset, graduating in 1984 from Cohasset High School where he was a varsity member of the football team, and volunteering for many years at the JDRF Cohasset Triathlon.  Jimmy's love of The New England Patriots was his true passion, and he enjoyed his tailgating with friends and family. Jimmy was a commanding physical presence and an outdoors enthusiast who loved Black Rock Beach all year round, as well as storm chasing, snowmobiling, kayaking, yoga, lifting weights, hiking and reading a good book.

Jimmy was a whimsical and eclectic collector of curiosities from driftwood to didgeridoos, and his creative spark changed boat oars into stair railings, and weber grills into fire pits. Jimmy loved people. He loved meeting them, hearing their stories and learning about their lives. He had friends from all walks of life, and across the generations. Jimmy worked at Lydon and Murphy Insurance a family business for over 23 years. Jimmy most recently enjoyed his time lugging logs as the Hercules of Tree Work, and providing livery services for many from Cohasset, Scituate, Norwell and Hingham.

Jimmy, please rest in eternal peace, keep smiling and know everyone that knew you loved you.
