James B. Witkowski, Jr. was welcomed into the Lord's Eternal Paradise on June 24, 2014 after a courageous journey with lung cancer. Jim was born in Baltimore, MD on July 2, 1946 to Patricia Cook Witkowski and James B. Witkowski, Sr. His family moved around in his younger years, until finally settling in Manchester, PA which he considered home. It was here he met his high school sweetheart and love of his life, Bonita. He attended the University of Maryland and then entered Federal Service, first for the Naval Investigative Service and then for the Defense Investigative Service which brought him to Scituate, MA. Here, he and Boni made a welcoming home and raised their family. He retired from federal service in 1996 and spent the next 18 wonderful years enjoying retirement, delighting his grandchildren and traveling with Boni. He was active in the former St. Frances X. Cabrini Catholic Church, serving on the Parish Council and volunteering with the Food Bank.

Jim was preceded in death by his mother, Patricia, and leaves behind an adoring family: his father James B. Witkowski, Sr. and wife Doris; his brothers Timothy and Michael; his beloved wife Boni; his daughter Kristi Lombardo and fiancée Sean Hastings and their children AJ, Sam, Will, Drew, Zach and Duncan; his son James B. Witkowski, III and wife Karen and their children Alyssa and Ryan; and his son Jonathan D. Witkowski and wife Amy and their daughter Molly.

All who knew Jim respected his infinite faith, boundless hope, intense devotion, clarity of principle and unwavering friendship. He was filled with passion and love and was an inspiration to those who witnessed the optimism, hope and grace with which he lived through his illness. Jim's family would like to thank the many caregivers at Tufts Medical Center and Massachusetts General Hospital who provided Jim comfort, love, and friendship during his treatment.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Anthony's Church in Cohasset, MA on Saturday June 28th at 10:00 am followed by a reception at the Parish Hall. All are welcome at a burial to follow at St. Mary's cemetery at 12:30. In lieu of flowers, donations in his honor may be made to The Foyer of Charity, 74 Hollett St., Scituate, MA 02066 or the American Cancer Society.
