Janet A. Wood, Norwell, MA, died on October 1, 2014 from Obstructive Lung Disease. She was 56.  Janet had this disease for years and died at home.

Janet grew up in Grand Rapids Michigan and graduated Indiana University in 1980 with a degree in Journalism. She began her career shortly afterwards working at TV stations in Michigan before moving to Kansas City where she was the morning anchor on the ABC affiliate.

Janet went on to get her Masters in Education from Columbia University and became a teacher at Professional Children's School in NYC. In February 1992 she married Glenn Jensen and lived in Dover, MA for years where they raised their two sons before moving to Norwell, MA.

Janet is survived by her two sons, John Jensen and Thomas Jensen, brother Tom of Brookfield, WI, and mother Patricia Wood of Grand Rapids, MI.

A ceremony celebrating Janet will be held at 11 am on October 8, 2014 at The Dover Church, Dover, MA. The family has requested no flowers and any donations be made to The Salvation Army.
