Jean W. (Higgins) Figueiredo passed away on October 17, 2021 at home in Cohasset, MA surrounded by her loving family. She was 90 years old.
Jean was born at home in Cohasset, MA on September 1, 1931 to the late Lloyd Higgins and Mildred (Chappell) Higgins, both of Cohasset. She was a graduate of Cohasset High School. Jean was an active member of the Cohasset community. She volunteered in the schools, was a member of the choir at Second Congregational Church, and held varies jobs in town. Most notably, she ran Cohasset Cove fish market with her daughter. There she greeted everyone with a warm smile and a witty remark. She made the best lobster rolls and lobster bisque in town.
Jean was an avid gardener. She always had the most beautiful gardens, which she tended with care. She loved all varieties of plants and cut flowers, and was blessed with a green thumb.
She is predeceased by her parents, her husband Joseph P. Figueiredo, her sister Elizabeth (Higgins) Brook of Cohasset, MA, her sister Margery (Higgins) Ritter of Sarasota, FL, her daughter-in-law Judith Figueiredo of Cohasset, her grandson James Figueiredo of Cohasset, and her grandson Keith Herzog of Cohasset.
Jean leaves behind her sister Joyce Higgins of Scituate, MA, her son James P. Figueiredo of Cohasset, MA her daughter Jayne W. (Figueiredo) Herzog and husband Scott Herzog of Cohasset, MA, her son, Joseph P. Figueiredo Jr. and wife Nancy Figueiredo of Cohasset, MA, and her grandchildren Scott Herzog the second, Timothy Herzog and wife Sharyn, Jenny (Figueiredo) Montgomery and husband Tyler, John Figueiredo, Hannah Figueiredo, and Brooke Figueiredo.
Jean also leaves behind several loving great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Jean had a deep love of animals, so donations to Scituate Animal Shelter would be welcomed in her memory.
