Obituary

Jesalyn Tate Ferguson, 94, of Hingham MA passed away on peacefully at home on Friday, November 9, 2024.  She was surrounded by her family.

Jesalyn was born in Quicny, MA on September 16, 1930.  She was the youngest child  of Edward and Grace Tate.  An  older brother, Allen Tate,  preceded her in death. A graduate of Purdue University and Georgia Tech University, she went on to become an AP chemistry teacher in Ridgefield CT.  She resided in Wilton CT for over 35 years before moving to Hingham, MA in 2003. Jesalyn was a devoted wife to Willard (Bill) Ferguson for 70 years, loving mother to her two sons, Glenn and Hugh Ferguson. Her family was her greatest joy and she will always be remembered for her quick wit, great intelligence and wonderful conversations.  She was  an accomplished pianist and for years enjoyed playing for her family.  An animal lover, Jesalyn loved the family dogs and feeding the birds and animals in her yard.  She will be deeply missed by so many. Jesalyn left this world quietly and free of pain.  She leaves her husband, Bill, sons Glenn and Hugh, Daughter in law Julie, and grandchildren, Clay, Graham, Alex and Anna Ferguson. A Celebration of Jesalyn"s Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, remembrances in Jesalyn's name may be made to The American Cancer Society at https://donate.cancer. org OR donate.brightfocus.org (Macular Degeneration Research)
