Joan Curley Pope, "Bessie", on Sunday August 21, 2011 in Brewster, Massachusetts after a brief illness. Born in Boston, Massachusetts, she and her family settled in Weston, Massachusetts. As a young woman, she moved to the South Shore of Boston and then moved to Cape Cod in 1970. She enjoyed Cape beaches, traveling and most of all being with family and friends.

Beloved widow of Steven Pope, mother of Pamela Brennan of Cohasset, Lincoln Pope of Yarmouth Port, Stephanie Pope of Brewster, and Natali Kendrick Pope of North Hollywood, California. She is also survived by four grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life will be held on August 29, 2011 at 3 pm at 40 Prence Road, Brewster, MA. 02631. A Graveside service will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 31 at 11 am, leaving from McNamara-Sparrell Funeral Home, 1 Summer St., Cohasset, MA. 02025, promptly at 10:30 am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to VNA Hospice, 434 Route 134, So. Dennis, MA. 02660.
