Joan M. (Gill) Breen, age 75, of Scituate, died peacefully on August 31, 2011.
Beloved wife of the late John E. Breen and devoted mother of Maura Power and husband, Michael of Newpburyport, MA., Denise Breen of Scituate, and John E. Breen, Jr. of Scituate. Loving grandmother of Maeve. Sister of Peter Gill of Foxboro and the late Matthew, Marguerite, Edward, Paul, Ann Marie, Robert and Jane.

Joan worked in her later years at the Quarter Deck in Scituate Harbor.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10  am on Thursday, Sept. 8, 2011 in St. Mary of the Nativity Church, 1 Kent St., Scituate Harbor, MA. 02066. Visiting hours 4-8 pm Wednesday, Sept.7 in McNamara-Sparrell Funeral Home, 1 Summer St. (across from St. Anthony Church), Cohasset. Interment Union Cemetery, Scituate. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Joan's memory to the Friends of the Scituate Recreation Dept., 600 Chief Justice Cushing Hwy., Scituate, MA. 02066.
