Joanne E. (Dickman) Tarantino, age 81, of Norwell, died peacefully on December 28, 2010. Joanne was a lifelong resident of Norwell and was a graduate of Norwell High School, Class of 1947. After graduation, she worked for the Rockland Trust Company. A breast cancer survivor, Joanne volunteered for many local charities and supported the Animal Rescue League of Boston-MSPCA, and the American Diabetes Assoc. With a love for reading, she also volunteered at the local libraries. Joanne also worked part time at Marsh's Store for several years, where she enjoyed assisting customers in selecting fine wines for special occasions. She also appreciated New England Architecture, design and gardening. A devoted and loving wife and mother, Joanne enjoyed summering in Chatham.

Joanne was the loving wife of John F. Tarantino, and the beloved mother of John F., Jr. and his wife, Lori of Cotuit and Robert of Kingston. She was the daughter of the late John and May Dickman of Norwell and the loving sister of Peter Dickman of Norwell. She is also survived by her beloved cat, Lilly.

Service Information

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, January 3, 2011 at 10:30 am in St. Helen Church, Washington Street (Rt. 53), Norwell.
