John J. "Jack" Daly, Jr., age 92, of Hull, formerly of Hingham and West Roxbury, died peacefully on August 10, 2011 with his family by his side. Jack was an alumnus of Williams College and last worked as the general manager for Northeastern Distributors, of Cambridge MA. During World War II, Jack served in the US Navy as a Lieutenant. A noted sports figure in Boston, he officiated collegiate football and hockey and had served as president of the Eastern Association of Intercollegiate Football Officials (EAIFO) and the Gridiron Club of Boston. Jack was a well known raconteur; his humorous delivery of Downeast Maine stories was a key feature of both formal and informal events across New England and beyond.

Jack was the beloved husband of the late Helen (Murphy) Daly and the devoted father of Cathleen D. Everett and husband, James of Scituate; John J. Daly, III and wife, Patricia of Hingham; Susan Daly Paul of Northborough; Barbara Daly and wife, Carmela Laino of Hull; Andrew W. Daly and wife, Becky of Los Angeles, CA.; and Christopher S. Daly and wife, Janet of Scituate. Grandfather of 14 children and great grandfather of nine. Brother of Marie Dempsey of Lexington and the late Kathleen Daly and Marguerite Harahan.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, Aug. 16, 2011 at 10 am in St. Anthony Church, 10 Summer St., Cohasset. Visiting hours Monday from 4-8 pm in McNamara-Sparrell Funeral Home, 1 Summer St. (across from St. Anthony Church), Cohasset, MA. Interment Tuesday, Aug. 16, 2011 at 3 pm in V.A. Mass. National Cemetery, Connery Ave., Bourne, MA.
