John "Jack" Vincent- of Cohasset Ma, 89, a retired IRS worker, died Sunday June 5, 2011 . Born in Brighton Ma. on August 20,1921,  Jack attended Commerce High School in Boston. A decorated veteran of World War II, Mr O'Malley served in the US Army in the European Theater of Operations during the invasion of Normandy earning the Purple Heart after DDay.

After the end of the war, Mr. O'Malley worked for the IRS in Cambridge, Ma., before retiring after 30 years. An active member of the Brighton chapter of the VFW Oak Square for many years before moving to Cohasset, Ma.

Mr. O'Malley is survived by his brother Michael Joseph of Va. and predeceased by his siblings Austin of Hyde Park, Mary of Arlington, David of Waltham and Rita of Cotuit, Ma. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Mr. O'Malley loved traveling to the family homestead in Westport, County Mayo, Ireland and visiting his many relatives still in Ireland. Mr O'Malley was known for his story telling and his great sense of humor. He will be missed by all who knew him.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:30 am Thursday June 9th at St Anthony's Church, 10 Summer St., Cohasset, Ma. Burial will be private. If desired, donations in Jack's memory may be made to Home for Our Troops, 6 Main St., Taunton, MA. 02780.
