Joseph Edward Buckley, Sr. of Marshfield, MA, born on January 11, 1931, passed quietly at home with family by his side on September 9, 2025, at the age of 94. Beloved husband of the late Patricia Anne (Reale) Buckley, with whom he shared 63 years of marriage. He was the devoted and loving father of Joseph E. Buckley Jr. (Jacqueline Buckley) of Marshfield, Deidre A. Buckley of Marshfield, Peter J. Buckley (Emilia Buckley) of Cohasset, Michael F. Buckley (Stephanie Buckley) of Sandwich, and Christine J. Buckley of Marshfield; survived by 14 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Joseph graduated from English High in 1948. After, Joe worked at the First National Bank of Boston while taking night classes at Bentley School of Accounting and Finance. Soon Joe was off to Fort Dix, NJ, for basic training. He graduated as a special agent in the US Army Counter-Intelligence Corps and was assigned to the 704th CIC Detachment in Pusan, Korea. After 19 months, he was assigned to the 901st CIC detachment in Sandia Base, NM, where he spent three years before being honorably discharged.

Upon his return to Dorchester, MA, Joe met his wife, Patrica. They married on November 23, 1957, and he graduated from Boston College in 1958. After a short stint at National Paper, Joe spent his career as a Sales Manager for Milliken and Company until he retired in March of 2003.

Joe's special gift was his ability to befriend anyone, anywhere, with his ease of conversation and warm and gentle nature, as well as engaging in any subject matter. Joe worked hard and knew how to enjoy himself. He was a true family man, guided by his Catholic faith. He would do anything at any time for his wife and children, and in retirement, his focus was on his grandchildren. Joe's life was an example of true love and faith to be cherished by all who knew him.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Joseph's visitation at McNamara-Sparrell Funeral Home, 30 Central Street, Norwell, MA, on Monday, September 15, 2025, from 4:00 - 7:00 PM and a Mass of Christian Burial to be held at St. Mary of the Nativity, 1 Kent Street, Scituate, MA on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, at 11:00 AM.  In lieu of flowers, please donate to Joseph's name to:
