Joseph D. Buckley, age 87, of Cohasset died July 1, 2010. Joe was the beloved husband of Margaret "Mig" (Garrity) for 65 years and the beloved father of Joseph Daniel and his wife, Jane, of Abington, Paul and his wife, Dale of Whitman, Eileen Simonelli and her husband, Roland of Abington, and Kevin and his wife, Fran of Liverpool, NY. Also survived by 8 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Joe was treasurer and CEO of Buckley Corp. of Dorchester and Rockland. He was elected Treasurer/Collector for the Town of Cohasset. He was a Navy veteran, serving in WWII. Active in Troop 28 Boy Scouts, serving as Scoutmaster for the Explorer Troop. He was Principal of St. Anthony's Confraternity of Christian Doctrine. He was a SHINE counselor for the South Shore Elderly and participated in many programs for the elderly in Cohasset. He was named Cohasset Citizen of the Year. He was a graduate of BC High, Class of 1942 and Northeastern Univ., Class of 1953.

A Funeral From the McNamara-Sparrell Funeral Home, 1 Summer St. (across from St. Anthony's Church), Cohasset at 9 am on Tuesday, July 6 followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Anthony's Church, Cohasset at 10 am.

Interment Woodside Cemetery, Cohasset.
