Joseph Flaherty, age 79, of Scituate died February 7, 2013  after a lengthy illness.  Formerly of Quincy and Dorchester, Joe is survived by his wife J. Frances Flaherty, his children, Mary of Scituate, Joseph of San Diego CA, Christopher and wife Denise of Norfolk, Sheila and husband Jim Regan of Hudson, NH, and  Brian Flaherty and wife Robin Schorr of Beverly Hills, CA.  Grandfather of  Patrick, Liam and Jack Regan, Sam and Rebecca Flaherty, Rosa Schorr. Brother of the late Jack Flaherty and Peg Burns.

Veteran of the US Coast Guard, Mr. Flaherty also worked for the Boston Gas Co..

A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary of the Nativity Church, 1 Kent St., Scituate on Friday February 15, 2013 at 11 AM.  In lieu of flowers, donations in Joe's name can be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, PO Box 845945, Boston, MA 0228 4.
