Joseph D. Klier, 82, of Cohasset, passed away on April 20, 2013 surrounded by his family.  The loving husband of Mary and devoted father of Joseph D. Jr. and wife Marilyn of Hingham, Denise Keating and husband, Thomas of Duxbury, Leslie Lemaire of Cohasset, Peter and wife Linda of Cohasset, Caroline Wolfe of Cohasset, Michael and wife Laurette of Old Lyme, CT. Brother of Paul, Marilyn Girouard, William, Patricia Miller, Janice Crowley, Joan Gianniani, Dorothy Harmon, Robert and the late George and Kenneth. Adoring grandfather of Lauren Ladd, Kristin Godfrey, Lindsey Barrett, Emily Keating, John Keating, Michelle Lemaire, Thomas Lemaire, Christian Lemaire, Julia Klier, Natalie Klier, Joseph Klier, Sophie Wolfe, Jennifer Wolfe, Matthew Wolfe, Ford Klier, Ingrid Klier and Michael Klier, Jr., as well as four great-grandchildren.

Mr. Klier was the founder and president of B.D. Brooks Precision Machine Tools of Norwell and a member of the American Machine Tools Distributors Association, and the Hatherly Country Club of No. Scituate. He was also an avid sailor. 'Joe' Klier was well known for his larger-than-life personality and his generosity.  Truly an individual, he was entirely self-made and selfless.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, April 25, 2013 at 11 am in St. Anthony Church, Cohasset. Visiting hours Wednesday, April 24, 2013 from 4-8 pm in McNamara-Sparrell Funeral Home, 1 Summer St. (Across from St. Anthony Church), Cohasset. Interment private. In lieu of flowers, donations to honor Mr. Klier may be made to the Cohasset Sailing Club building project, 19 Lighthouse Lane, Cohasset.
