Julia F. (Paulding) Armstrong, age 72, of Norwell, passed away suddenly during investigative surgery for a possible reoccurence of cancer at the Brigham and Women's Hospital, in Boston on July 11, 2014.
Born and raised in Brockton, MA, Julia graduated from Brockton High School and attended Pierce Medical Secretarial School in New Hampshire. After jobs with the gas company and Brockton V.A., she became the bride and wife of Ronald Armstrong of Dorchester. After living in Quincy, they built a home in Norwell, MA.
Judy leaves her husband, Ronald and their two children, Karen (Armstrong) Elmessadi and husband Najib of Hanover, and Keith Armstrong, Jaclyn and Seth of Pembroke. She was the adoring grandmother of Adam and Lina. Predeceased by her father, Lloyd Paulding, in 2007, she is survived by her mother, Florence "Todd" (Needham) of West Bridgewater and her brother, Lloyd Paulding, Jr and wife Judy of New Boston, NH. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.
Judy possessed a gorgeous, stay at home mom smile, while active with the UCC Congregational Choir, Food Pantry, Mission and Outreach. She also loved involvement in the Company Theater, home gardening, crocheting, cooking and babysitting.
Relatives and Friends are invited to attend a Funeral Service will be held on Friday, July 18, 2014 at 10 am in the United Church of Christ, 460 Main St. (Rt. 123), Norwell, MA. Visiting hours Thursday, July 17, 2014 from 4-8 pm in McNamara-Sparrell Funeral Home, 30 Central St. (off Rt 123, near State Police Barracks), Norwell Center. Interment Cedar Grove Cemetery, Dorchester. In lieu of flowers, donations to honor her may be made to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, 44 Binney St., Boston, MA., which prolonged her life for over 30 years, bringing joy to her children, family, and all who loved her.
