Obituary

Loving husband and Father, Karl S. 'Kris' Kristiansen, 82, of Cohasset, MA, our 'Big K' , passed away peacefully on 09 Sep 2024 at the South Shore Hospital in Weymouth after a brief illness.

Born in Boston, MA in 1942, he made his lifelong home in Cohasset to raise his family. He served our great nation for 28 years in the United States Coast Guard (USCG) as a Senior Chief Bostwain's Mate. In his love of all things nautical, his passion was restoring nautical ship models. After his retirement from the USCG, he used this talent while working for Lannan's Ship Model Gallery. Some of his meticulous and beautiful works may even be in your homes now. For many years he gave to our community serving as the Custodian (and official bell ringer) of the Beechwood Congregational Church.  He could also often be seen fattening up the Beechwood wildlife, keeping his friends the chipmunks and squirrels with plenty of supply for the winter.

He was the cherished Husband of his Wife Cheryl Kristiansen of 54 years, and loving Father of his two daughters, Karla Kristiansen of Cohasset and Karen Kristiansen of Weymouth.

At the request of the family, the service will be private.

In lieu of flowers, remembrances in Kris's name may be made to the MSPCA at https://www.mspca.org/
