IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Kathleen A.
(Delaney) Devaney
October 18, 1967 – April 12, 2024
Kathleen Anne Devaney
Kathleen Ann Devaney (nee Delaney) of Cohasset and Harwich Port, MA, died Friday, April 12, 2024, at home, surrounded by her loving family. She was 56 years old.
Kathy was born in Omaha, NE, Oct. 18, 1967, the daughter of Dr. Robert and Jeanene Oberreuter Delaney. Kathy graduated from Boston College in 1990 with a B.S. in Business Administration, and remained connected to the Boston College community throughout her life. After working in Washington, DC and New York City, leading ad sales for National Journal and Fast Company, she returned to the Boston area, first to Harwich Port and later to Cohasset.
Kathy was fiercely devoted to her children and family. She was thrilled when James, and later Kasey and Cate, decided to attend Boston College. It was a point of pride that she regularly ran the best tailgate party for all the Eagle's home football games. She was a fitness enthusiast, running the Marine Corps Marathon and the New York City Marathon several times. She enjoyed skiing, playing tennis, and hosting friends in her beloved Harwich Port. She was loved by a wide circle of friends.
Surviving are her husband of 24 years, James Devaney, Jr.; her two daughters, Kasey Devaney and Catelyn Devaney, and her son, James Devaney, III; all of Cohasset. She is survived by her mother, Jean Delaney of Flemington, NJ; her sister, Maureen Ailara of Frenchtown, NJ; and her brothers, Rob Delaney of Morristown, NJ and John Delaney of Forest Hills, NY.
