Kathleen Clifford Nagle, 95, of Scituate, passed away on November 10, 2014. Vibrant, with a wonderful sense of humor, she expressed daily how grateful she was for her family, friends, and the amazing people who cared for her at Sunrise Assisted Living in Cohasset.  Known as Kay or Kathleen she was strong, elegant and stylish, able to draw people to her with her positive energy. Born on August 18, 1919, she grew up in Roslindale and West Roxbury.  After high school, she enrolled at Boston Clerical, now the Boston Business School. The school was known by all of the businesses in Boston and around the world because of its high ethics and student achievement.  All students had to keep a 90% or above average in order to pass all classes given. Upon graduation, she worked her way up as a civilian in the transportation department of the Army, where she arranged transportation for service men and women to and from their assignments in WW II.

She met Paul Nagle on a blind date on New Year's Eve 1942.  Six months later, he shipped out as a junior officer on a Navy destroyer destined for service in the South Pacific during World War II.    She wrote him letters every day during the three years that he was gone.  They married upon his return in 1945, and subsequently had eight children.
During their 59-year marriage, they lived in New York, North Carolina and Connecticut.  In 1972, they moved back to their beloved Scituate, where Kathleen summered in the Minot section of town during her youth.   She lived her life with grace, dignity and fun until the very end.  Asked by her doctor, shortly before she died, if she needed  anything  from him.  With a twinkle in her eye, she asked, "How about a glass of chardonnay?"  Shortly thereafter, in the company of her children and grandchildren, she got her wish.

Mrs. Nagle is daughter of the late Florence (Kelley) and George Clifford, and the sister of the late Rev. Donald Clifford of Scituate, MA., she was the wife of the late Paul F. Nagle, and the mother of Kathleen Davidoff of Rock Hill, NY; Peter C. Nagle of Kittery Point, ME; the late Paula Macomber of Cambridge; Clifford Nagle of Guatemala; Nancy O'Connor of Scituate; Bill Nagle of Nyack, NY; Donald Nagle of Scituate; and Christine Nagle of Scituate. She also leaves 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
