Kevin J. McLevedge ( The Big Kahuna) 62 of Scituate died Sept 3 surrounded by his family and best friend Bob Dillon after a long and brave battle with Multiple Myeloma. Kevin was the son of Edmond McLevedge and Marguerite Burley. He is survived by his wife Kathy McLevedge , his treasured daughter Jessie McLevedge,and his much loved siblings and spouses Brian and Jean McLevedge, Sheila McLevedge, Colleen and Roberto Padovani, Maura and John Trovato, Alison and Tom Guiliano , and Erin and David Rowell. He was predeceased by his brother Duane Mclevedge and will be missed by his sister in law Diane McLevedge. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends. Kevin was born in N.Y. And moved to his beloved Scituate as a teen where he was grateful to spend his days. He was a 1970 graduate of Scituate High School and Arizona State. He was known for his quick and quirky wit,his infectious laugh, his passion for catching a wave, fishing, swimming,and spending time with his family and friends. He was also an avid reader and was looking forward to spending many of his days in retirement at the library.
Kevin worked for many years as a case manager with developmentally disabled adults at New England Villages.
His family is grateful for the love, support, and encouragement from those who loved him most and for the care and expertise of his medical team who gave him hope.
A service and surf paddle out is being planned for the spring/summer of 2015.
