Kirk Buchanan Reed (otherwise known as "Duke" or "K Money", depending on the audience) peacefully passed away on August 29, 2025. Kirk bravely battled cancer for nearly three years before departing on his 45th birthday.

Kirk was born in Barberton, Ohio on August 29, 1980, to Michael and Brenda Reed. He graduated from Walsh Jesuit High School in Stow, Ohio and went on to earn a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Villanova University in 2003. After working as an engineer for several years, he shifted careers to become a Financial Advisor with McNamara Financial.

Kirk never met a golf course, bowling alley or I.P.A. he didn't like. He was truly loved by all who knew him and, while often a man of few words, he had an extraordinary sense of humor and dry wit. He was known for his selflessness and generosity and was one of the most thoughtful gift-givers known to man.

Kirk is survived by his children, Myla (15), Callie (14) and Arden (12), and by their mother, Alyssa McNamara Reed; his parents, Michael and Brenda Reed; sister Stacey Reed; and by his loving companion, MaryEllen Monahan, and her children, Jace, Skye and Meadow.  He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Wayne and Wanda Klein, and his paternal grandparents, Orville and Janet Reed.

The family would like to thank the Oncology Department, particularly Dr. Robert Gaudet, and Critical Care Unit at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Plymouth, MA for their knowledge, care and kindness throughout Kirk's treatment.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, September 4th from 4:00 – 7:00 PM at McNamara-Sparrell Funeral Home at 30 Central Street, Norwell, MA. Funeral mass will be held on Friday, September 5th at Our Lady of the Assumption at 40 Canal Street in Marshfield, MA at 10:30 AM.
