Laurence J. Higgins, of Scituate, age 84, retired Treasurer of Brandeis University, passed away on April 18, 2014. Beloved husband of the late Carol B. (White) and devoted father of L. Bruce Higgins of New York and Jeffrey Higgins of Connecticut. Brother of the late T. David Higgins. Loving grandfather of Garret and Myles Higgins of CT.

Mr. Higgins was the Treasurer of Brandeis University in Waltham and, for a number of years, lectured on accounting topics at Babson College . After his retirement, he was associated with Hunneman Real Estate and later Coldwell Banker in Cohasset as a Real Estate Broker.  Laurence was a member of the Hatherly Country Club and the Scituate Harbor Yacht Club. Mr. Higgins was also a US Air Force veteran.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, May 9, 2014 at 10 am in St. Anthony Church, Cohasset. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations to honor Mr. Higgins may be made to The Talking Information center, http://ticnetwork.org .
