Linda M. Campbell, 80, of Cohasset, MA passed away on June 16 th , 2026, at Rose Court/Linden Ponds with her family by her side.
Born in Pittsburgh, PA in 1946 and daughter of Richard and Mildred McCormick, she graduated early from Thiel College in January 1968 where she was the president of the Chi Omega sorority and later completed her Master of Education at the University of Pittsburgh. She spent over 40 years as a beloved elementary school teacher, and ultimately retired from Foster School in Hingham, MA where she taught for over 34 years. She loved sewing and delighted in creating one-of-a-kind handmade smocked dresses and outfits for her grandchildren
As a devoted member of The Crafty Ladies at Second Congregational Church in Cohasset, MA, she shared not only her remarkable creativity and talent, but also her kindness, encouragement, and friendship. She was always willing to lend a helping hand, offer a thoughtful idea, or take on a new challenge with enthusiasm. Her beautiful handmade creations reflected the love and care she poured into everything she did, from exquisitely embroidered and quilted Christmas tree skirts to cherished children's bibs and countless other handcrafted treasures. Her attention to detail and artistry often drew comparisons to Martha Stewart herself.
Her service to the church extended far beyond crafting. Whether preparing for the annual Strawberry Fair or quietly helping wherever she was needed, she could often be found behind the scenes, spending hours cleaning and cutting quart after quart of strawberries. She gave generously of her time, talents, and heart, never seeking recognition or praise. Her joy came from helping others and contributing to the community she loved. She will be remembered for her selflessness, quiet dedication, and the warmth she brought to all who knew her.
She would join her family in Oak Bluffs each Summer where she would spend her time being with family, sharing and causing many laughs with her amazing sense of humor, or also reading a good book. Later in life, she enjoyed river cruising around the globe.
She was the wife of John W. Campbell for over 56 years and the sister of Evelyn McCormick of Pittsburgh. She leaves behind a son, Mac Campbell (Meghan Campbell), and a daughter, Catie Campbell (Robin Garside), along with three grandchildren, Liam, Molly, and Blithe all residing in Cohasset.
