Lucy T. (Conte) Rhodes, age 96, of Carver, formerly of Marshfield and Brockton, died peacefully at her daughter's home in New York on Wednesday, Dec. 8, 2010. Lucy was the beloved wife of the late Francis H. Rhodes and the loving mother of Donald P. and his wife, Joyce of Naples, FL., Lawrence J. and his wife Lizanne of Marshfield, Marylou Rhodes of Brookfield, NY., Franklin S. and his wife, Amy of Humarock and the late Francis H., Jr., John "Jack" J. and Philip T. Rhodes. She was the sister of Dominick Conte, Jr. of Brockton, and the late Patrick L. Conte of Brockton and the late Susan Chubbuck of Brockton. Lucy is also survived by her grandchildren, Donald F. Rhodes of Brookline, Lucas J. Rhodes of Plymouth and Larissa Rhodes of Marshfield and her great grandchildren, Kaycee, Isabel, and Maya. Lucy also leaves a niece and nephew and many wonderful friends.

Lucy worked for many years as a sales clerk at Tedeschi's, Angelo's and Stop and Shop Stores, as well as a sales person for Stanley Home Products. Lucy also enjoyed writing her newspaper column for the Marshfield newspaper.

Visiting hours

Visiting hour from 11 am to 12 noon at McNamara-Sparrell Funeral Home, 30 Central St. (off Rt. 123, near State Police Barracks), Norwell Center on Wednesday, Dec. 15.

Service Information

A Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday, December 15, 2010 at 1 pm in Standish Cemetery, also referred to as Plainville Cemetery, Marshfield, MA.
