Macy Mae Burgess

Macy Mae Burgess, age 10, of Norwell, Massachusetts passed away on April 9, 2026.

Macy was born on May 8, 2015 in Falmouth, Massachusetts. Macy is deeply loved and will be forever missed by her mother Marisa Burgess, brother Daniel Burgess, and her aunts and uncles Connie and Tom Cox of Woodstock, Georgia, Jennifer Ridge and Tyler Gaylord of Darien, Connecticut, Lauren and Thomas Dougherty of Hingham, Massachusetts, and her cousins Taryn and Ty Cox, Dexter and Willa Gaylord, and Isla, Owen and Georgia Dougherty.

She was preceded in death by her father, David Paul Burgess of Georgia, and her grandparents Sharon and Joseph Ridge of Norwell, and Ruth and David Burgess of Georgia.

Macy brought color and laughter to everyone who knew her. She was a talented artist and expressed herself with imagination and joy, always finding ways to make things more beautiful. Pink was her favorite color, and it seemed to follow her everywhere- just like the warmth and kindness she shared so freely with others. Macy was interested in interior design and loved building and decorating miniature houses with her best friend Lucy. Macy adored baby goats, loved to listen to music and chat with her beloved brother, and enjoyed summer family trips to the beach. Though her time with us was far too short, it was filled with kindness, love, creativity and laughter. Macy will be remembered for her creative imagination, kind heart, generous spirit, and the small works of art she gifted to family and friends.

Family and friends are invited to join services at the McNamara-Sparrell Funeral Home at 30 Central Street in Norwell on Thursday, April 16, 2026 from 2-5pm and at the First Parish Church at 24 River Street in Norwell on Friday, April 17, 2026 at 11am.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the ChadTough Foundation at https://chadtough.org/donate/ or Tommy’s Place at https://tommysplace.org/ways-to-give-2 or that you honor Macy by hugging your loved ones, creating an art project, playing on a beach, or smiling when you see baby goat. The love Macy gave and the memories she created will live on forever in our hearts.
